Ohmio and Miller Electric from the US announce manufacturing partnership

Ohmio Automotion Limited and Miller Electric Company, based in Jacksonville, Florida, USA, have signed an MoU regarding the establishment of an assembly and manufacturing facility of Ohmio electric, autonomous shuttles in the United States, hosted and supported by Miller Electric.

Miller Electric Chief Executive, Henry Brown, said "Miller Electric Company understands that the future of transportation is in electric, autonomous vehicles, and we are pleased to partner with Ohmio to bring the future of transportation to the US. We will be working with Ohmio to bring the manufacturing of their vehicles to the US. This is a great opportunity to develop a high-tech, specialized industry, and an economic opportunity in our region."

Ohmio Executive Chairman, Mohammed Hikmet, said “This is a key milestone in Ohmio’s journey. Miller Electric Company is a well-known and respected company throughout the US, and, with Miller’s support, Ohmio will now establish a manufacturing base for autonomous shuttles there. This initiative will enable Ohmio to manufacture a “made in the USA” vehicle that will involve the use of local components and employment of local resources, whilst utilising the Ohmio-developed robotic system.”

Ohmio and Miller will now work through the details of this key business initiative, made somewhat more difficult due to the ever present threat of the COVID Pandemic.
